Description
Louis Krudo designed this Karambit style folder long before he was even in the knife business and long before Karambit folders were in fashion.
At that time, a trusted friend thought the blade design looked too dangerous. Back then there was no pocket knife on the market like it, so Krudo listened to said friend, sealed up the design, and mailed it to himself for proof of postmark. That design stayed sealed for three and a half years.
Finally, even though he was still not in the knife business, Krudo decided he wanted to get the folder made. He found a local knife maker and took the sealed envelope to him.
When the knife maker met with Krudo for the first time, he broke the sealed envelope open, took one look, and said, “Wait here.”
Louis waited.
The knife maker came back into the room holding, what was at that time, a current magazine. What Krudo saw was his design almost to-the-tee on the front cover. He had been on the right track but another designer had brought the Karambit folder to life.
Krudo vowed never again to listen to the opinions of others. He knew that one day he would make knives…his way. That’s when SNAG was born and Krudo’s Karambit folder design got put on the farthest back burner.
It has been several decades since that day…… before KRUDO Knives was even in existence. That day was a defining day; a turning point for Krudo as a designer and as a person. Lessons learned the hard way tend to stick.
Since then, many designs have been brought through production, but never that Karambit folder style blade from years ago.
Introducing SNAGbit, the Karambit folder you’ve always wanted, but never thought possible.
